Obituary of Richard Fullerton Price

Richard Fullerton Price, 69, died Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Cayce. He graduated from BC High School in 1963. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Delta AR-9 from 1963-65. He was a member of Sinclair Lodge 154 A.F.M., the Scottish Rite, and the Jamil Temple. He retired from Allied Signal as a maintenance mechanic and supervisor after 33 years. Surviving him is his wife of 51 years, Donia Hegwood Price. Children are Debra (Scott) Robertson of West Columbia, Michael (Lisa) Price of Maggie Valley, NC, and Amy (Christopher) Carlton of Gaston. Grandchildren are Heather (Michael) Eck of Tacoma, WA, Kaitlyn Borders, Ashlyn, Skylar and Ayden Carlton. He was a quiet, simple man with a deep love of God and his family. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He was an amazing artist and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He loved family vacations, especially camping at Edisto Beach. He was a history buff and enjoyed visiting Civil War battle sites. He enjoyed NASCAR, USC football, and Braves baseball. He was predeceased by his parents, Julius R. Price, Sr., and Jessie M. Fullerton, and a brother, Julius R. Price, Jr. Visitation will be at Thompson's Funeral Home on State Street in West Columbia on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Service will be at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 2 pm, officiated by Pastor Wade Roof. Burial will follow at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church cemetery on Delree Street in West Columbia. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Ave, West Columbia, SC 29169. The family would like to thank the nurses in the Moultrie Suite at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital for the wonderful care that gave him.
