Obituary of Harold Edward Miller

Gaston - Harold Edward Miller, 79, of Gaston, entered into rest, December 14, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist. Born December 25, 1934 in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Reedy Franklin and Mae Dell (Jones) Miller. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the US Army, and actively served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine, in the maintenance department, and retired after more than 25 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary F. Miller with whom he shared of union of more than 38 years; two brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his second wife of 9 years, Rean J. Miller; daughter, Tina Hardin (Jeff Butler); four step-children, Nancy Hall, Jean Jeffords (Furman), Eddie Napier and Cheryl Lawson. He is also survived by a sister, Grace Bartley (E. C.); grandson, Ashley Ray Hardin, as well as additional grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held, with military rites, at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204, with Pastor Bill Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
