Obituary of Russell Lacoaste Grice

EASTOVER-Russell "Rusty" Lacoaste Grice, 54, of Eastover passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his home with his loving family and friends by his side, after a short but brave and courageous battle with cancer. Rusty was born on May 12, 1960 in Columbia, SC. He was a beloved son and husband and was loved by many. Rusty was the son of the late Leroy Grice and Margaret Hinson Grice. He was predeceased by his brother, Roy Stanley Grice. Rusty was a 1978 graduate of Lower Richland High School where he played the drums for the marching band. His love for music was astonishing. He was a member of the Lower Richland Masonic Lodge #406 and Scottish Rite. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Debbie Miller Grice, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved and will miss him dearly. Services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Knotts, Dwayne Brantley, Brian Pfifer, Donnie Deaton, Edward Taylor and Brian Girce. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Lee, Robbie Hinson, Greg Hinson, Neil Moore and Billy Frost. Our love and thanks go out to Dr. Mohamed El Geneidy and his staff at South Carolina Oncology Associates, and to Hospice Care of Tri-County, his nurses Debbie and Shelly and also the family support coordinator, Sue. We thank you all for the care and support you gave to Russell and the family.
