Obituary of Wanda Gwendolyn Galloway

Columbia-Wanda Gwendolyn (Jones) Galloway, 74, of Columbia passed peacefully, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her home. Born March 4, 1940 in Hartsville, SC she was a daughter of the late Carl, Sr. and Marguerite (Melton) Jones. An Army wife, Mrs. Galloway traveled the world with her husband while he was stationed in Europe, the Middle East as well as various areas in the Pacific. Mrs. Galloway is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold T. Galloway, Sr.; daughter, Kay Nye; son, Harold "Tom" Galloway, Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Nye; great grandsons, Taylor and Jacob Giles; eight siblings, Kathryn, Vicki, Celia, Sally, Janna, Carl Jr., David and Howard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at New Providence Baptist Church, Hartsville, SC., 1884 Antioch Road, Hartsville, SC 29550, A selfless individual by heart, it was Mrs. Galloway's wish to have her body gifted to the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine, so that she would be able to help others. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 107 Westpark Boulevard, Ste. 220, Columbia, SC 29210.
