Obituary of Ronald Bates Warren

West Columbia - Ronald Bates Warren, 71, of West Columbia, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born in Union County, South Carolina on January 20, 1943, he was a son of the late Robert Bates Warren and Pauline Norris Warren. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. During his lifetime, he spent time as a SLED agent, business owner and credit manager, but the job he enjoyed most was being a dad and "Papa" to his grandchildren. Ronn is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jeannie Porter Warren; sons, Sean Warren (Tamara) of West Columbia, S. Todd Warren (Angie) of Lexington, Bret Warren (Margie) of Navarre, Florida, Judd Warren (Jennifer) of Irmo and Cade Warren (Anna) of Columbia; sisters, Norma Gay of Florida and Becki Gaddum of Idaho; brother, Jerry Warren (Susan) of North Carolina; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Warren will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at The Episcopal Church of St. Simon and St. Jude. Father Mark Abdelnour will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
