Obituary of Brenda J Kline

Columbia - Brenda J Kline, 72, of Columbia, SC passed away January 26, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on November 22, 1942 in Carmichaels PA to the late Joseph F. Vrana and Lillian Vrana. Brenda was an unselfish woman that was full of life. She spent her life making things better for those around her. While Brenda was in Maine she enjoyed nursing. Brenda was the consummate volunteer. During her life, she worked with The Boy Scouts of America, The Girl Scouts of the USA, Knights of Columbus, and was one of the founding members of the Volunteer Rescue Squad in Maine. More recently, Brenda helped in the kitchen and with the children at Trenholm United Methodist Church. She was a very talented cook and baker. Her stuffed cabbage was a welcomed meal at her home. Brenda would always make extra helpings of her meals so there would always be enough to share with whoever came by to visit. She loved the theater and especially enjoyed The Phantom of the Opera. She enjoyed dancing to polka music, and more recently became a fine shag dancer. Brenda was an avid reader with a vast library at her home. She followed current events and politics. She also liked a good card game of pinochle or Michigan Rummy. What was most important to Brenda was her family. Sunday dinners after church, the wonderful holiday meals, and time spent at the beach were some of her most cherished moments. She was a great mom, a fantastic grandmother and great grandmother. It was said she spoiled them a little too much, and that was fine with her. Brenda is survived by her daughters; Michele Kline, of Columbia, SC and Jennifer Kline of Columbia, SC, her sons; Joseph Kline (Anie) of Saco ME, and Aaron Kline, of Columbia SC, grandchildren; Erik Kline, of Columbia SC, Jason Lamy, of Portland ME and Spencer Kline, of Saco, ME, and great-grandchildren; Bryan Kline of Columbia, SC and Tobias Lamy, of Portland ME.; brother, Regis Vrana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Michael Joseph Kline; brothers, Joseph Vrana, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Vrana; and sister, Delores Hand. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 1 PM until 2 PM.
