Obituary of Clifton Lemuel Pruitt

Lexington - Clifton Lemuel Pruitt, 82, of Lexington husband of Janelle Spaulding Pruitt passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015. He was born in Greenwood County on December 8, 1932 to the late Robert and Mary Hall Pruitt. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker from Fairmont Tamper Company and he was a veteran with the US Navy where he served as a signal man from 1951-1955. He served overseas during the Koren War and numerous foreign ports. Surviving in addition to his loving and devoted wife "Cuddles" Janelle Spaulding Pruitt of 26 years are his children, Eddie Lundeen (Linda), Debbie McCarthy (Joseph), Robbie Pruitt (Patti), Daniel Pruitt (Josefina), Mitchell Joiner (Jennifer), Blair Joiner (Kelli) and Tommy Pruitt (Jan); twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor Pruitt (Martha), and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Joiner and a sister, Audrey Pruitt Fernandez. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday February 7, 2015 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
