Obituary of Claude Huff

West Columbia - Claude "Buddy" Huff, Jr., 69, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was the husband of Bonnie Hite Huff. Graveside services, with full Military Honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. David Lutheran Church, with Chaplain Princetta Dennis and Reverend Brian Rainwater officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:30 prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, South Carolina. Honored to serve as pallbearers are the members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Funeral Detail. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the armed forces. Claude "Buddy" was born March 13, 1945, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, a son of the late Claude Huff and Edna McClintock Huff. He was a member of the South Carolina Army National Guard and served as a Recruiter and various other positions as an active duty soldier with the National Guard. He retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard with 35 years of honorable service. He was a faithful member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Claude "Buddy" always worked hard and loved his God and his family with all of his heart. Surviving Mr. Huff is his wife, Bonnie Hite Huff; a daughter, Beth Huff; a sister, Sandra (Junior) Miller; a brother, Ronald W. Huff; and grandchildren, Travis Maroney and Ashley Hallman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Kay Carros and his brother, Donald L. Huff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29072 or Hospice Advantage, 115 Blarney Drive, Columbia, SC 29223.
