Obituary of Don C Shealy

CAYCE: Don C Shealy, 98, of Cayce, passed away February 14, 2015. He was born on October 13, 1916 in Greenville, SC to the late Oscar Shealy and Lillie Jenkins Shealy. He left this Earth on Valentine's Day to join his loving wife, Agnes Shealy who preceded him. Don retired in 1966 as the owner of Friendly Finance Company and Local Finance Company. He was a member of State Street Baptist Church for over 50 years and served on many phases of church operations. He was awarded Honorary Lifetime Deacon at State Street Baptist. Mr. Shealy was a trustee of Baptist Hospital and a small loan business Liason to the legislature over 10 years. Mr. Shealy is survived by his two daughters, Pamela McMillian of West Columbia and Patricia (Danny) Arnold of Nashville, TN; two sons, Don (Shirley) Shealy Jr. of Columbia and Robert (Jo) Shealy of Cayce; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday February 16, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Funeral services will be at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia on Monday February 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Nathan Brown officiating. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri- County 166 Stoneridge Dr. Suite 100 Columbia, SC 29210 or State Street Baptist 1420 State St, Cayce, SC 29033 in memory of Mr. Don Shealy.
