Obituary of Adrianna McEntire Harris

Lexington - Adrianna "Mary" McEntire Harris, 91, of Lexington passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Louisiana on May 27, 1923 to the late Octavia and Edith McEntire. She was homemaker and she worked as a librarian for the Mason's and Columbia Commercial College. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Columbia South Carolina where she was an active volunteer. Mrs. Harris graduated from The University of South Carolina. She is survived by two sons, Walter Harris, III (Deanie) and David Harris; daughter, Edith Highsmith; two brothers, James and Albert McEntire; four grandchildren, Alex and Chris Frier, Laura Harris Bechard and Ashley Harris Beecham; and five great-children. In addition to her husband, Walter Harris, Jr. and her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ruth Bertholf; grandson, Andy Frier; and sister, Jerri Jankowski. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
