Its so hard when you lose a loved one! My brother, James, may have been 9 years older than I, but it was so much fun when he would pop in to visit us. We never knew when that would be...but we knew it would be fun! On one of his trips home James put up a tire swing, which was a great hit not only for us but also the entire neighborhood. Another time, James put up a tree harness which he would pull us up into a tree & let it go & grab it before we hit the ground. My Mother wouldn't watch but we thought it was great fun, and trusted James enough to catch us! Everything was always fun with our older brother.
Im very happy that I got to visit him last Summer, it had been way too long! Rest in Peace, big Brother! Love, Pamela & Randy

Besides the few pictures I have seen, I have one memory of my Uncle James. I was young. Under 5 years old. The occasional visit to Grandma Juanita's house was always fun. A man I had never seen before was at Grandma's. A giant of a man. (from a toddlers point of view) He had a deep voice, a kind smile, and a booming laugh. He was dressed in Army dress greens complete with all sorts of medals. I remember talking to him and him taking the time to talk to me.
I hope your loved ones take comfort in knowing the suffering is over now. After your courageous battle, may you rest in peace.

My brother, James, will be missed by me and all the members of his family. He was in the US Army for 23 years, serving his country in many places, including Vietnam, Korea, and Germany. He was then employed by a high security prison and retired to care for his wife, Millie, who preceded him in death. He touched many lives with his kindness and wonderful sense of humor and was a positive influence in the lives of his other brothers and sisters, Pamela, Jon, Lori, Larry, Randy, myself, his older sister, Carole Christensen, Love, who preceded him in death, and his many nieces and nephews.
James loved hunting and fishing and participating at his local gun club.
We will all miss him.
His sister,
Sharon E Christensen

James you will be missed by many. I will remember you as a kind, thoughtful and generous person. It was a special treat for all your younger brothers and sisters when you made the trip back to Belmond back in the day! We were proud of our big brother who proudly served his country with your many years of service. Love Jon,Jody and Family.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. When we lose someone in death, the pain, the grief and the feeling of helplessness can seem unbearable. The Bible promises; "God is near to the brokenhearted." It also says; "Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you." (Psalm 34;18 and 55;22) I hope this message will help you cope with the loss of your loved one.

Even though my heart is broken, I'm so Proud that James Christensen is my Brother!!
I have so many great memories of my Brother and I Loved Him with All Of My Heart and thank goodness that he knew this!
Over the years we talked non stop, being from IA kept us apart but we were on the phone non stop sharing our stories :)
James was a Viet Nam war vet and served in Korea and a lot of other places.
James,
You will never ever be forgotten, you are in my heart FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
I don't feel as the tears will ever stop,
With So Much Love, Respect and Honor To My Brother.
Love,
Lori
