Obituary of Ray Browning Hughes

Ray Browning Hughes, Sr., 91, of West Columbia passed away peacefully on February 21, 2015. He was born in Columbia to the late Lee and Adele Hughes. He was an active member of Pineview Baptist Church for 38 years. He was an avid fan of the SC Gamecocks. He was a US Army World War II Veteran. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lucille L. Hughes. His daughters, Kathy and her husband Jesse Felder of Greenville, SC and Carol and her husband Wayne Moore of Casselberry, FL, and his sons, Ray Hughes, Jr. of St. Cloud, FL and William Ted and his wife Margaret Huggins of Batesburg, SC. He is also survived by his brother Marion F. Hughes of West Columbia, SC. He leaves his 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Huggins and his brothers Herman, Tom and Earl Hughes and his sister Louise Hughes Dobson. The family will receive friends at Pineview Baptist Church 3010 Leaphart Rd., West Columbia, SC on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 11am-12pm. Funeral services will follow. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
