Obituary of Claire Fulmer Keel

A funeral service for Claire Fulmer Keel, 92, of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Pastor Steve Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, 461 Church St N, Concord, NC 28025. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 27 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Keel passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Born in New Brookland, now West Columbia, she was a daughter of the late R.H. Fulmer and Gladys Kreps Fulmer. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia "Patti" Keel-Gardner of Lexington; son, Brad Keel and his wife Gail, of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Mike Keel of Charleston, South Carolina; Grandchildren: Rob Gardner of Columbia; Beth Shipman(Kevin) of Lexington; Ashleigh Johnson (Brett) of Valdosta Georgia; Candace Tanner (Jud) of Valdosta, Georgia; Jesse Keel (Dana) of Falls Church Virginia; Chad Keel of Reston Virginia, great-grandsons Logan, James, Daniel and Tyler Shipman of Lexington, Justus, Luke and Colton Tanner of Valdosta, Georgia, Bryson Johnson of Valdosta, Georgia; and a large and loving extended family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James B. Keel; sister, Marjorie Fulmer Pennington; grandson, James Keel Gardner. Mrs Keel was a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1990, She was a charter member of State Street Baptist church. She worked at Lexington Medical Center for 20 years in the Gift Shop and was a Volunteer for 20 years also. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
