Obituary of Louise Brazzell

A memorial service for Louise Brazzell, of Eastover, will be held at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church, 920 Horrell Hill Road, Hopkins, SC at 2 PM on Friday, March 6, 2015. Reverend Randy Moore will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 PM until 8 PM at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Mrs. Brazzell passed away on March 1, 2015. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late, Zack Collins and Maggie Bell (McMullen) Collins. She was a member of Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church. Louise was very strong and intelligent woman. She taught herself to read so she could read the Bible. Louise enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She had many musical talents. Louise could sing, play the guitar and piano. She had an amazing memory for music and liked to sing hymns and gospel music. She was also very good with her hands. Using her talents, she would crochet blankets and make baby quilts for all of her grandchildren. Louise was also an amazing cook. When someone was not feeling well, she would make her special chicken and dumplings, because that was "healing food". Louise was a talented seamstress. She could see an outfit, and develop the pattern from sight and memory. Louise loved her family. She took pride in raising them in the Christian faith. She especially enjoyed all the times the family would get together. She looked forward to the family reunions, only missing one her entire life. Louise was loved by many, and will truly be missed. Louise is survived by her daughters, Marsha B. Robinson (Jimmy) of Summerton SC , Patricia Elaine Patterson (Billy) of Cedar Grove TN and Myra Brazzell of Greenwood SC; and sons, Roger Brazzell (Marlene) of Eastover SC and Randy Brazzell (Cathy) of Hopkins SC. She also leaves behind twenty grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly and a special friend, Paschall Swann, Sr. Louise was predeceased by her husband, James Andrew Brazzell, a daughter; Thelma Swann, sons; Zack (James) Brazzell and Emerson Brazzell; grandchildren, Paschall Swann, Jr. and Joe Haile. The family has asked that memorials may be made to Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Randy Moore, 160 Fox Meadow Lane, Hopkins, SC 29061.
