I just read about the unfortunate passing of David in the current issue of St Olaf Magazine. David was my roommate for three years and we spent much time together during vacations. I knew his parents and sister quite well, but have been out of touch for many years. I have a home in Naples and had been hoping to catch up with him one day, but it just didn't work out. Ernie Brehm

I graduated from Wells High School in 1958 and ran around with David and we were in scouts together. Had a good time with David and our friends but lost touch after high school. He went to St Olaf and I went to Wartburg College in Iowa.
I am sorry he had to suffer with Lewy Body disease, but he knew the Lord and is in a better place.

I worked with David when he was Director of the Russell House Student Union at the University of South Carolina, 1972 until 1978. He was my one and only professional mentor. With David guiding me I didn't need anyone else. David was the best boss, colleague and friend I ever had. Ever though we lost touch over the years I have always remembered my special years with David ... and Yvonne, and the kids! I even babysat for Craig and Michele. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. Gretchen Laatsch (Estero, FL and Akron, OH)

I worked for David for five years and also took several Christian Precepts Courses with him, where both of us grew in our faith. David walked what he talked. He and Yvonne were truly of one spirit with no judgement just love and support. Never saw him get angry and showed so much patients with the new agents he groomed. Your spirit will be missed.

I met David Ness through my wife, Ginny Sadreameli, when he reached out to her while she was at another Realtor and he invited her to join his firm. Through the years I knew him, he was always a gentleman, a true Christian, with a smile, a twinkle of the eye, respectful of all, and a genuinely decent, honorable human beings. David will be missed but not forgotten. Our condolences to the family.
Kind regards,
Jalal Sadreameli

When David Ness joined the Northside Baptist Church he asked the pastor, Lonnie Shull, what he should do to grow in his faith. Lonnie told him to get with me, the church training director. At the time, the most in-depth material available for Southern Baptists was a course called "Master Life." David took to the study like ducks in water. In a short time, David became intrigued by "spiritual gifts," and did his own personal study that he later used to help others discover their gifts and how to use those gifts to honor our King. Eventually David became Northside's church training director and was instrumental in helping hundreds of Christians grow in their faith. David is now rejoicing with our Savior. I love David Ness!

I met Dave when he first came to USC. I was working part time at the Russell House and active with the Student Union, especially the Outdoor Recreation Committee. Maybe one reason we hit it of so well was that I worked also as a Counselor at a Boy Scout Camp in high school over the summers. He was an inspiration to me that helped me develope further self confidenance and prepare for that step from college to the real world.
I then begin to sell real estate my senior year of college and he showed great support and interest in what I was doing. He was a great roll model!
