Obituary of Billy Vernon Whiddon

Gaston-Billy Vernon Whiddon, 78, of Gaston passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Lexington County Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1936 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Lonnie T and Ola Mae Phillips Whiddon. Mr. Whiddon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy M. Whiddon; children, Kim Morris (JC), Rodney Whiddon (Tammy), Jamie Rowell, Barbara Hersey (Alfred) and Latrell McMillan; sister, Lib Tatum; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his children, Verlinda Wiggins, Farrell Rowell, Michael Lynn Rowell and Ricky Vernon Whiddon; 3 grandchildren and 4 siblings. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens in West Columbia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
