West Columbia - Hazel A. Dorrell , 93 , of West Columbia , South Carolina passed away March 8, 2015 at home in West Columbia , South Carolina . She was born on January 4, 1922 in Hartsville, South Carolina to the late James and Norma (Gandy) Sparrow. Hazel is survived by her sons, James O. Dorrell, Jr. of West Columbia, SC and Vernon G. Dorrell, and his wife, Kay of Batesburg, SC; her daughter, Sharon D. Oliver, and her husband, Richard of West Columbia, SC; and her son, Gerald C. Dorrell, and his wife, Martha of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James O. Dorrell, Sr.; one grandchild and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be at South Congaree Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the South Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery.
