Obituary of Irene H Hollis

Irene H. Hollis, 94, of Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015 at Brian Center Nursing Care, Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on August 30, 1920 in Nichols, SC, to the late Louis and Golda Housand. Irene loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was a very active member of the WMU, the benevolence committee, and she was a Sunday school teacher. Irene loved her family. She cherished the times that they could be together. Irene is survived by J.D. and Ann Hollis, Heyward and Cindy Hollis, four step-daughters, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Holt and Evata Wallace. Irene was predeceased by her husband, J. D. Hollis; two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 PM. The family will greet friends starting at 1 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
