Obituary of Carlos Jackson

Carlos Jackson Sr., 81, of West Columbia passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with Rev. Greg Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mr. Jackson was born on July 25, 1933 in Aiken County to the late Ed and Georgeanna Williams Jackson. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Shirey of Greenwood, Becky Spelts of Gaston and Tina Brazell of West Columbia; son, Larry Jackson of Columbia; sister, Edna Stevenson of Neeses; seven grandchildren, Tony Shirey, Joseph A. Pou, Brandon Pou, Robert Spelts Jr., Kaitlyn Spelts, Christina Brazell and Elizabeth Brazell; two great granddaughters, Veronica Pou and Allyson Pou. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Carlos "Sonny" Jackson Jr. and Charles Jackson; grandson, Chad Pou. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family.
