Obituary of Paul E Hair

Paul E. "Bill" Hair, of Chapin passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Bill attended Hyatt Park and Columbia High Schools and graduated in June 1945. He was employed by Southern Plastics Company in West Columbia before he retired in April 1992. He served as Vice President of Sales and a member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Society of Plastics Engineer. After retirement he was an active member of the Mid Carolina Country Club. He was active in the Men's Open group and Senior Men's Golf Association of Mid Carolina Club. He was an active Lutheran and attended church at St. Thomas Lutheran in Chapin where he served on the Church Council. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Smith Hair; son, Donald Earl Hair (Susan); and two brothers. He was predeceased by his parents, Lula and James J. Hair; sister, Elizabeth and brothers, Earl, Johnnie and Jimmy. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family.
