Obituary of Mary Ann Brown

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Mary Ann Brown, 72, of Columbia, will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015. Mrs. Brown passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was born on February 2, 1943 in Terell, Texas to the late Pelham F. Brooks and Imojene Carr Robertson. She graduated from Harlandale High School in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout her life, she was a homemaker and home daycare provider for children. She was a member of Pine Lakes Baptist Church in Hopkins for more than 20 years. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Arnett Brown; son, James Brown, Jr.; daughter, Debra (Joseph) Campbell; and granddaughter, Chaunte' (David) Turner. She is also survived by several beloved siblings; Dean, Debbie, Frances, Oretta Ann, Gary, Ilene, Jackie, James, Janis, Linda, Pelham Jr., Roger, Sandra, Sharon, and William. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by stepmother, Ida Mae Brooks; stepfather, Jack Robertson and her brother Tommy Robertson. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park is assisting the family.
