Obituary of Everett Rhett LaVern Slyce

Everett "Rhett" LaVern Slyce, 48, of Lexington, SC passed away on March 23, 2015 in Lexington Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on April 17, 1966 in Columbia, South Carolina to Everett LaVern and Carolyn (Rinehart) Slyce of Lexington. Rhett is survived by his loving wife, Hope (Branham) and their children, Hannah, Rebekah and Benjamin Slyce. He is also survived by his sister, Kelly S. Goodale (David); sister in law, Mandy Branham Fields; mother in law, Lola Branham; and father in law, Dwight Branham. His nephews are Blake Goodale, Morgan and Caden Bryant. Rhett was employed by South Carolina Budget and Control Board and was an avid deer hunter and loved the outdoors. Friends of Rhett may honor him by wearing camouflage on Saturday. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Saint David Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Saint David Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Medical Center for all their care to Rhett.
