Obituary of Carolyn Shealy

Carolyn Shealy, 72, of Gaston, SC passed away April 3, 2015. She was born on March 26, 1943 in, Lake City, SC to the late Samuel James Alford, Sr. and Clara Mae (McMinn). After graduating from Dentsville High School and raising her boys, Carolyn attended Midlands Tech in SC. Carolyn was a Nurse and worked for many years at several mental health facilities in SC. She dedicated her life to helping others. She is survived by sons, James David Shealy of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Edens Shealy of Charlotte, NC and Michael Weston Shealy of Gaston, SC; and her loving grandson Shane Rodney Shealy of Gaston, SC. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Walker of Lexington, SC, Elva Jean Barkalow of Columbia, SC and Lelia "Bobby" Miller of Florence, SC. She is survived by several other grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Arthur Shealy and her brother, Samuel James Alford, Jr. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow in Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery.
