Obituary of Willis C. Fowler

Willis "Bill" C. Fowler, 93, of Columbia, husband of the late Annette Brannon Fowler passed away peacefully at his home on April 7, 2015. Colossians 3:3b states: "…your life is hidden with Christ in God." Mr. Fowler was born on September 24, 1921 in Columbia to the late John William and Hortense Deese Fowler. He was a 1941 graduate of Columbia High School and in 1951 earned an Architectural Engineering BS from Clemson University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII. He retired from SCDOT and was a charter member of St. Andrews Evangelical Church. Mr. Fowler is survived by a son, John William Fowler and wife Martha; a daughter, Margaret Etta Fowler; a brother, Frank Fowler; two granddaughters, Anna and Abby Fowler. He was predeceased by a brother, Alger "Buck" Fowler; two sisters, Kathleen Grant and Betty Fowler. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Andrews Evangelical Church, Columbia SC. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Andrews Evangelical Church Missions Fund, 2609 Seminole Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
