Obituary of William Roland Mann

William Roland Mann, 85 of West Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015. He was loved by all that knew him. He was a loving husband to two wonderful women, Brenda C Mann and his late wife Ruth T Mann; and an outstanding father and grandfather to his two daughters and their families, Teena (Jeff and Josh) Adams and Sylvia (Sanjay, Lindsey and Alisha) Kumar; and to Brenda's children and grandchildren, Kelly Snider, Patti (Taylor and Megan) James, Amy (Alex and Lauren) Gillian and Craig (Tiffany, Jamie, Kash and Piper Davis) Snider. He is also survived by his brother, David (Janette) Mann; his sister-in-law, Josephine Mann, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Mann was born in Winnsboro, SC and was the son of the late Herbert Porter and Bessie Ballentine Mann. He was brother to the late James (Mary Lou) Mann, the late Doris (LG) Hobgood and the late Horace Mann. Mr. Mann served in the US Army during the Korean War. He and his late wife, Ruth, owned and operated a prominent photography studio, Mann Photographers, in West Columbia for 30 years. He was a devoted member of Cayce United Methodist Church and was very active in his church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Cayce United Methodist Church, 1600 12th Street, Cayce, SC with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. A private entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Cayce United Methodist Church and the Alzheimer's Association, 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210. The family wishes to thank the staff at Carroll Campbell Place and Tri-County Hospice.
