Obituary of Gloria Jean Newman

Gloria Jean Newman, 65, of Columbia, entered into rest, Friday, April 17, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born June 3, 1949 in Newport, KY she was a daughter of the late Harvey Bernard, Sr. and Evelyn (Baker) Hornback. Gloria enjoyed crocheting, but nothing could surpass the love she had for her family and the joy she received from taking photos of them during every family engagement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Marshall and a brother, Harvey "Junior" B. Hornback, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, John Henry Newman, with whom she shared a union of more than 28 years; married for 16 of those years. She is also survived by two daughters, Evelyn Jean Gornto (Ken) and Patsy Lee Yarborough (Clint); sister, Londa Haigis; brother, Johnny Hornback; and treasured grandchildren, Ashley Rains (Heather), Amber Brooks (Chris), Clinton "CJ" and Patrick Yarborough.
