Obituary of W. David DeLoach

Funeral services for William David DeLoach, 72, will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Red Bank Baptist Church with burial to follow in Olympia Cemetery of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. DeLoach passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center. He was born on December 14, 1942 in Columbia to the late Ebbie and Dorothy Browder DeLoach. David grew up in the tight-knit Olympia Community in Columbia SC. He was initiated as a member into the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #227 on February 3, 1967 and retired as Business Manager of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #421 on May 15, 2003 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. David was known for his quick wit, sense of humor and contagious smile and was loved by many. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Kay and watching Gamecock Football. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Kay Yandle DeLoach; daughters, Gina DeLoach Whitten, DeDe DeLoach, Pam DeLoach Hatcher (Cameron) and Phoebe DeLoach Bacon; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Kadie, Jacob, Ethan, Ryan, Addie and Abigail and one great grandchild, Brantley. Also surviving are brother, Ebbie "Skip" DeLoach (Sylvia); mother in-law, Virginia Williams; brother in-law, Joe Yandle (Beth); sister in-law, Tina Yandle; a special cousin, Nancy Nunn and numerous nieces and nephews and beloved special companion, Deuce. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary DeLoach and a granddaughter, Hannah Lora Bacon.
