Obituary of Virginia Simone Cupstid Ballard

Mrs. Virginia Simone Cupstid Ballard, 75, of West Columbia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital. Born in Columbia, SC, Simone was a daughter to the late John and Katie May Rabon Cupstid, Sr. Simone is a member of Airport Baptist Church. She worked many years in medical records at the Bryan Center. Simone will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Kovac (Bobby), Dianne Peagler (William), Deborah Ballard and Kathy Renee Ballard; son, Glen Ballard; sisters, Kay and Faye; and brothers, Johnny and Paul. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Simone was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Colie Blease Ballard, Jr., and a grandson, Michael Reese. A funeral service for Mrs. Ballard will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Ed Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank her daughters, Debbie and Renee, for their expert loving care of our mother during these past few months.
