Obituary of Robert Harmon Cotton

Robert Harmon Cotton Jr., 62, of Eastover, South Carolina, joined his Heavenly Father on May 5, 2015. Robbie was born on October 3, 1952 to Carolyn (Caldwell) Jeter and the late Robert Harmon Cotton, Sr. A lifelong resident of Eastover, Robbie graduated from Lower Richland High School. Immediately thereafter, he began working at Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel on Bluff Road where he dedicated over forty years of service. Robbie was a true country boy who farmed his own land and loved spending time hunting and fishing. An accomplished woodworker, Robbie enjoyed designing and building beautiful wood furniture in his workshop. A devoted and devout Christian, he truly appreciated God's bountiful gift of the great outdoors. In addition to his mother, Robbie is survived by his loving wife, Valorie Cotton of Eastover; his sister, Doris Hogan (Scott) of Hopkins; his brother, Coulter Cotton (Melinda) of West Columbia; his sister-in-law, Connie Cotton; two nieces; two nephews; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Robbie was predeceased by his father and his youngest brother, Danny. The family will receive friends at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 10220 Garners Ferry Road, Eastover, SC 29044 on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2 pm until 3 pm. Graveside services will follow the visitation at the church cemetery with Reverend Drew Martin officiating. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Robbie.
