Obituary of Dorothy Younginer Jacobs
Funeral services for Dorothy Younginer Jacobs, 87, of West Columbia, "Ms. Dot" as known by all who loved her, will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Avenue West Columbia, Officiated by the Rev. Wade Roof. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor's Family Life Center.
Mrs. Jacobs passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7 at her home. She was Born Oct 22 1927 to the late Edward Sr. and Vera Mae Derrick Younginer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Paul Jacobs.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Tommy) Sexton of Beaufort and Sheri (Tim) Self; sons, Paul (Jeanie) and James Jacobs; and former daughter in law, Toni Jacobs of West Columbia; grandchildren, Kevin (Lori), Charles (Stephanie) Sexton, Tonya (Tommy) Gylnn, Jessica (Drew) Maxheimer, Travis and Adam Self, Jake (Hillary), Cole and Whitney Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Mason, Maegan and Gracie Sexton, Keeley Glynn, Elijah Maxheimer, and Rylee Jacobs; a sister, Faye Mann; and a brother, Edward Younginer Jr.
She was a faithful member of Mt Tabor Lutheran Church where she served on many committees, taught Sunday School, was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Ms. Dot sewed many athletic jackets for T & T Sports, crocheted numerous baby blankets, dish cloths, and the names of everyone she knew. She touched many lives with her love and kindness and will be missed dearly.
