Obituary of Elaine Hite Walker McGraw

Elaine Hite Walker McGraw of Lexington went home on May 26, 2015. She was the born on July 10, 1924 in West Columbia, SC to the late Lottie Maude Bachman Hite and Daniel Abram Hite. In addition to having jobs outside the home, she was an incredible role model and mother. In the next season of her life she tirelessly worked at G Weber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital as a mental Health Specialist and this sort of sums it up after retirement: To quote her supervisor, "I respect and appreciate your contribution to the care of patients over the years you worked for the department. There are never material rewards for kindness, attention to the needs of others, loyalty, consistency, etc…, but you must know that all those things made hospitalization for hundreds of people a little better. You did touch the lives of many, many patients! Also, I will always treasure your loyalty to me during the turmoil here. Thank you!" Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Keith Earl McGraw, Sr.; sister, Mary Rentz; daughter, Janet Lane Walker; stepson, Keith E. "Kem" McGraw, Jr.; stepdaughter, Bridgett Jones (Barney); grandchildren, Abbie L. Cochran (Chuck), William Sean Walker, Jodi Walker (Steven), Ashland Walker and Jessi McGraw (Beth); 6 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Woodrow Walker; and son, Edward William Walker.
