Obituary of Ida Mae Miles

Ida M. Miles, 83, of Columbia, passed away May 28, 2015 at Providence Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1932 in Columbia to the late Jimmy and Mattie Player Graham. Ida was an amazing seamstress. She spent 45 years working in the textile industry having retired from Oxford of Columbia. A strong woman of faith, she was a member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church. Ida was a gentle woman that loved to sew, sing, cook and bake. Her fried chicken and biscuits were a family and church favorite. She was selfless and supportive. She had a great sense of humor and could play with the best of them. Ida also enjoyed her Bingo, Bible Study Classes, Pot Luck Suppers and Coffee Club at Christopher Towers. Ida most loved the time she spent with her family. Ida is survived by her daughter, Ila M. Morris; sons, Ray E. Miles (Carol), Ted D. Miles (Judy) and Dale Miles. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters and many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Miles; her sister, Ada Graham Miles, and her brothers, James Graham and Floyd Graham. A private funeral service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Sunday, May 31, 2015 with Pastor Gene Henderson officiating. Entombment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
