Obituary of Heyward Leroy Ferrell

Heyward Leroy Ferrell, 76, of Cayce, passed away May 28, 2015 at Carroll Campbell Place in Lexington. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Cayce, SC to the late Rupert Vester and Emma Wessinger Ferrell. He served in the South Carolina National Guard for 6 years and retired from S.L.E.D. Heyward is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Marshall Ferrell; a sister, Alice Ansell; and brother, Robert V. Ferrell. In addition to his parents, Heyward was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Ferrell. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.
