Obituary of Anne Pearl Setzler Richardson

Anne Pearl Setzler Richardson was born in Langdale, Alabama August 2, 1916 to Annie Virginia Creech and Harry Giles Setzler. She departed this life Monday, June 01, 2015. Pearl grew up in Asheville, NC, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Joseph "Sammy" Samuel Richardson. They moved to West Columbia in 1945 and went into the restaurant business. Pearl was an excellent cook, and was noted for her homemade rolls and cream pies. She left the restaurant business in 1956 and became a homemaker. She was very active in her church, Our Saviour Lutheran. She was a member of the Saluda River Woman's Club and Garden Club, and was an accomplished bridge player. She is survived by her three children, Linda Reynolds (Rob) of Chapin, Lorri Sutton (Bill) of Irmo and Randy Richardson of Simpsonville; a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Davis of West Columbia; and grandchildren, Shadd Sutton of New York, NY, Alexis Sutton of West Columbia and Tris Richardson of Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Carl Setzler, Dudley Setzler, twin brother Earl Setzler and Boyce "Bromo" Setzler (Hazel). Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, West Columbia, SC with Reverend Lance Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia, SC. Her family wishes to thank the staff at The Heritage at Lowman, Bethel for their exceptional care of our mother.
