Obituary of Doris Kishline

Doris Black Kishline died on June 7, 2015. She was born on December 20, 1926 in Barbourville, Kentucky, to the late Rebecca T. Black and Maurice Black, eventually moving and being raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Madisonville High School graduating in 1943. She went on to attend the University of Kentucky and was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, graduating in 1947. On December 20, 1947 she married Chester G. Kishline of Evansville, Indiana. She and Chet relocated to Columbia, SC and had one son, Robert "Bob" Kishline. She loved antiques and owned and operating an antique shop for many years. She was a homemaker and substitute teacher at Hammond School. She is survived by her son, Robert (Joan) Kishline of Columbia, SC and her brother,William (Mary Lou) Black of Houston, Texas, three nephews, Andrew (Laurie) Black, Alan (Annmarie) Black and James (Tara) Black and several grand nieces and nephews, and two fur grandchildren, Spooky and Raisin Kishline. She is predeceased by her husband, Chester "Chet" Kishline. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a local animal organization of your choice. Doris loved cats and all of God's fur children. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10 AM. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
