Obituary of Alice Anne Williams Beasley

A memorial service for Alice Anne Williams Beasley, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Swansea First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Terry Wilder. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Beasley was called to her heavenly home on June 10, 2015. Born in Swansea, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late B.E. Williams and Marie Shull Williams. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC and Masters of Church Music from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, CA. Mrs. Beasley was an accomplished musician. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher, as well as a music teacher for grades 1-12. She served in various roles in church music including organist, pianist, minister of music, and choir director. She also taught piano and art in her home for many years. She was the loving pastor's wife of the late Rev. Clyde E. Beasley for 57 years. Anne is survived by her daughter, Deborah Beasley Whisenant (Troy) of Lincolnton, NC; sons, Lawrence B. Beasley, M.D. of Forest City, NC, Kent C. Beasley (Sarah) of Blythewood, SC and Kurt E. Beasley (Deborah) of Swansea, SC; brother, Rev. Burt Williams (Lucille) of Cordova, SC; sisters-in-law, Dessa Beasley and Roberta Ware; grandchildren, Jeremy Whisenant (Jesse), Jennifer Sinclair (Travis), Sophie Derrick (Jesse), Ben Beasley (Kerri), Erin Derrick, Kelly Beasley, Luke Beasley, Adam Beasley, Marianne Beasley, Nick Beasley, Kelsey Beasley; great grandchildren, Felicity Sinclair, Bella Beasley, Leila Pickering and Madison Beasley; and many nieces and nephews, as well as many childhood and college friends. Anne considered her greatest accomplishment to be a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Anne was a faithful member of Swansea First Baptist Church. She will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swansea First Baptist Church, 145 S. Church Street, Swansea, SC 29160. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is in charge of the arrangements.
