Obituary of Harriet Baker Wood

Funeral services for Harriet Baker Wood, 64, will be held 11:00 a.m. June 18, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with burial to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Mrs. Wood passed away on June 13, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Laverne and Thelma Robinson Baker. She was co-owner of Wood Produce of Columbia where she and her husband have proudly served the Columbia area for over 25 years. As the family matriarch Mrs. Wood was a loving wife, mother, "nanny", sister, aunt and friend. She will be fondly remembered as the strength and heart of her family. Harriet is survived by her husband, Troy Wood of the home; daughters, Kerri Hutchins (Ralph) and Sherri Mattox (Kevin); son, Ronnie Cook (Jenny); step-daughter, Beth Williamson (Robbie) and stepson, Gene Wood; 11 grandchildren, Kelli, Russell, Cassie, Sydney, Trey, Harley, Sam, Alex, Liam, Olivia and Taylor; a brother, Michael Baker (Ruth); sisters, Paula Rye (George) and Beth Murphy(Johnny). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by brothers, Thomas Baker and Robert Baker.
