Obituary of Carol Anne Whitworth

After an excitement filled life full of love and laughs, Mrs. Whitworth passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Born and raised in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Roberta Jones. A 1965 graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of South Carolina, she went on to earn a master's degree in substance abuse counseling from Rhode Island College in 1993. She was professionally involved in TV and radio broadcast in SC, Mrs. Whitworth traveled the world with her husband and two sons. Mrs. Whitworth was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Mrs. Whitworth is survived by her loving sons, Matthew Whitworth (Lauren) and Daniel Whitworth (Ashley). The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
