Obituary of Judith Ann Caldwell

Judith Birge Caldwell, 73, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away September 9, 2015 at Palmetto Health Baptist Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on April 26, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Richard and Marcia (Burritt) Birge. Judy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as secretary and treasurer of their Encouragers Group. She was also a member of the Women of the Church Circle Number 8. Judy was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Past Grand Matron, and Past Grand Treasurer of the Order of the Eastern Star in South Carolina where she served for twelve years. Judy was also a member and past matron of Columbia Chapter 59, where she served as secretary for over a decade. Judy is survived by her son; Brett Caldwell, sister; Kathy Birge, and her brothers; Bob Birge and Tom Birge. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1 PM until 3 PM. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the chapel of the funeral Home with the Reverend Craig Wilkes officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, directly after the service.
