Obituary of Walter Battles

Walter Scott Battles (Scooter), 68, of Wagner, SC, passed away April 9, 2024. Scooter was born to Walter and Lucy Battles on March 13, 1956 in Pueblo, CO.

Scooter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucy Battles.  Scooter is survived by his children, Walter Battles (Crystal) and Cindy Battles (Ronnie); his brothers, Jim and Robert; his sisters, Dottie and Laura; his nephews, Nathan, Michael, Christopher; niece, Amanda; and his great nephew, Trace.

Scooter served in the US Army and after serving worked at Dr Tire until he retired in 2018.

Scooter’s memorial service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 4170 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC, on Wednesday, May 8th at 1 pm.  Family will be gathering after the service at his daughter’s home in W. Columbia, SC.
