Obituary of Lillie Leola Dowd

Lillie Leola Dowd, 92, of Swansea, South Carolina, passed away March 21, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center Extended Care Lexington, South Carolina. She was born on April 2, 1931, in Gaston, South Carolina, to Belton and Leola (Spires) Dowd.

Lillie always put her family first. She cherished and loved her family and will be dearly missed by them. She was also well known for her love of her Bible; she would be caught reading it constantly. Lillie was employed at Capital City Manufacturing Company for 35 years. She was a hardworking woman who left behind a long legacy.

Lillie is survived by her daughter, Dale Morrow (John); sister, Freida Stahl; two grandchildren, John M. Morrow (Carla), Michelle Lloyd (Tim); three great grandchildren, Sierra Serrano (Kevin), Morgan Morrow, William Mitchum; and one great-great granddaughter, Laelani Serrano.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Amy, Effie, Minnie, Sylvalene, Phyllis and brothers, Grafton, Bennie, and Bob. She is also predeceased by her parents, Belton and Leola (Spires) Dowd.

The family will receive friends at Grace Chapel Church on Tuesday March 26th from 1pm-2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Pastor James Jones officiating. Interment will be at Grace Chapel Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

Memorials may be made to the Grace Chapel Missionary Fund.
