Obituary of Alyne Emma Hallman

West Columbia, SC - Alyne Emma Hallman of West Columbia, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Born on November 24, 1955 in Fort Lewis, Washington. She was the daughter of the late Ann Sadler (Lambert) and the late Rufus Wallace Mendenhall. Alyne graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1973. She worked for close to 20 years at the Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Fabrication Facility. She later worked as an assistant at University of South Carolina School of Law. She took great pride in her role in supporting the publication of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal. Most importantly, Alyne played a critical role in handing down the recipe and process for baking Oma Lambert's famous Christmas cookies, ensuring that future generations of the family can enjoy a plateful of cherished holiday memories. Alyne took great pride in her work, loved her pets, was fiercely independent, and a loyal friend. While not originally from South Carolina, it was Alyne's home and she loved it. She was a proud Mom. Surviving are her siblings Linda, Brenda, and Christopher; her son, Steven; and her beloved grandchildren, Sydney and Miles.
