Obituary of Dorothy German Blackshear

Dorothy German Blackshear, 76, of Columbia, SC, more intimately known as Dot, passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2024, with her 2 boys faithfully by her side. Even though her battle with cancer took her away from this world, her spirit, strength, heart, and memories will forever and always be with us.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances German; her brother, George German; sister, Frances Byrne; the love of her life and husband, Glen Blackshear; and her granddaughter, Brianna. 

Dorothy is survived by her loving sons, Glenn & Charles; grandchildren, Kathleen and Bryce; great grandchildren, Hunter, Rayna, Kallen, Dawson, and Valley. She is also survived by her devoted friends & family. 

Dorothy’s love of her family, her faith, and her Church is what made her so special. She is so loved & cherished by all the lives she touched. She will be so very missed and so lovingly remembered every single day.
