Obituary of Margaret Rowell Carman

Margaret Carman, 91, of Columbia, SC, passed away on February 25, 2024. She was born December 16, 1932 in Orangeburg, SC, to the late Colie W. and Jennie B. Rowell.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Amy (Tim) Mahaffey, of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Christopher Carman, Amanda Carman, Tyler (Kristie) Mahaffey, Nicholas Carman and Natalie Carman; great grandchildren, Zachary Carman, Zoe Carman, Lucy Mahaffey and Lola Mahaffey; and brothers, Colie (Rosela) Rowell and David (Betty) Rowell.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack T. Carman; sons, David Bradley Carman and Mark Alan Carman; grandson, Justin Mahaffey; and sister, Jeanette (Clifton) Carter.

Margaret was a long-time member of the St. Andrews Baptist Church and a member of the Mary Martha Bible Study Class.  Margaret was always thankful for God’s many blessings, his promises, and for her family, home, friends, church family and all the special people (and pets) God put into her life.

The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am on Friday, March 1^st, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
