Obituary of Georgia "Sue" Armistead

Our sweet momma went to Heaven on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. She was 87. She was born on February 24, 1936. Sue was the youngest of 6 Children born to Ceaborn (C.L.) and Elvie (Evelyn) Wilder in Ila, Georgia. She has 1 surviving brother, Jack Wilder of Piedmont, SC. Her deceased siblings were Katie, Bill, Hoyle and Herman Wilder.  She is survived by her husband, Ron Armistead and her six children, Judy Graham, Gene Shirley (Theresa), Terry Shirley, Frankie Shirley, Don Shirley (Darlene), Susan Meek (Chuck). She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Rae Mollere and Renee Wilterding; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a stepson, Roy Armistead and 2 grandchildren, Angela Timmons and Kyal Shirley. 

Sue spent her working years in Food Services. 

Arrangements are as follows:  Visitation Friday, January 19^th from 10am to 11am, service to follow from 11am to 12pm. Service officiated by Reverend Don Turner.  All will take place at Thompson Funeral Home on Augusta Rd. in Lexington, SC.

The family would like to thank all those who prayed and supported us through this time. Momma, your strength and courage and sweet smile will be missed. This is not Goodbye, but see you later.
