Obituary of Betty Godwin

Betty Boyleston Godwin passed away on December 1, 2023. She was 87 years old.

She was born in Healing Springs, South Carolina on November 22, 1936, to the late Lawrence and Dorothy Boyleston. She graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1955. She loved her grandson and grandchildren. She also loved to go on cruises and traveled worldwide with her loving husband, LeVerne.

She is predeceased by her son, Alan Glenn Godwin and sister, Faye Bair (Leonard). She is survived by her husband, William LeVerne Godwin, Jr.; daughter, Kelly Renee Alewine (Curtis); sister, Patricia Yonce(Skip); brother, Arthur Boyleston (Barbara); sister-in-law, Mary Agnes French; grandson, Matt L. Godwin; great-grandchildren, Hannah Grace Godwin, Haven Faith Godwin, and Colton Tanner Godwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held on Monday, December 4th at 2pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will take place at 3pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
