Obituary of Geneva "Skippy" Collier Sountris

Geneva (Skippy) Collier Sountris, 84, passed away on November 29, 2023. She was born September 13, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN.

Skippy retired from Bell South after 31 years of telephone experience. Skippy met with a lot of friends during her employment. She kept memories of her classmates during childhood years from Booneville, Indiana. She kept close contact with her favorite and dear friend, Betty (Martin) Powers, who always corresponded with letters, school pictures and cards that put smiles on Skippy’s face. Also, she was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Skippy is survived by her husband, John Sountris; sons, Scott and Max Spires; and relatives of the Collier Families.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Rd., Columbia, SC, with a visitation taking place one hour prior. The burial will follow the service.
