Obituary of Elaine Rice

West Columbia - Elaine Rice, 88 passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 peacefully at her son's home with family present. She was born to the late Morris and Mabel Bates. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Rice and her two brothers, Harold Bates and Hugh Bates. Elaine is survived by her sister, Jane Burr of Texas; son, Aaron Rice (Sarah) of West Columbia; her daughter, Nancy McCrae (Larry) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Zachary (Jenna), Conner, Hunter, Lauren (Stephen), Jordan (Tyler); and great-grandchildren, Anna Leigh, Waylon, Beau.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and decorating her home. She will be missed by her family and friends.

We would like to thank her longtime caregiver, Pam Wise for her dedication, love and faithful service. We would also like to thank the hospice team for their part in her care. They all made it a special time for her.

Graveside services will be held at South End Cemetery in Bamberg, South Carolina on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
