Obituary of Lois Bessinger Yancey

Lois Bessinger Yancey, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Lois was born in Columbia, SC to the late Ernest Bessinger and Bessie Shirey. 

She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. If you ever went to visit her, you would not leave without a hot meal or glass of sweet tea. Lois is survived by her husband and sweetheart of 66 years, Marvin Yancey; children, Bobby Yancey (Joanne), David Yancey (Kelly), and Betsy Dodds (Ray); grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her great-grand babies remain her pride and joy. Lois left a legacy of love, pride, laughter, and delicious food. 

Visitation will be held at 10am Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00am in the Chapel, with burial to follow at Olympia Cemetery.
