Obituary of Charles Ray Davis
Charles Ray Davis (Ray), of Gaston, passed away on November 5, 2023. Ray was born on April 29, 1966.
During his life, Ray dedicated 20+ years to working at HARSCO Rail of West Columbia. He later retired to spend time with his family and work on numerous projects. He then decided to join Maurice’s Piggie Park BBQ family where he quickly became a dedicated employee, friend, and was loved by so many that worked there. He adored the people he worked with.
If Ray wasn’t at work, he was either with his family, working on his projects around the house, or you could find him fishing as long as the sun was bright, and he had his wife by his side. Every Wednesday, he would joyfully pick up his pride and joy, granddaughter, Charleigh Raye, and spend time with her and take her to her church group – she never wanted him to leave.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rhonda Moorer of Gaston; son, Chasen Davis (Kasey); daughter, C. Raygan Davis (Ali). He is also survived by his siblings: sisters, Angie Culler-Matthews (Greg), Joni Culler-Fisher (Bruce), Karen Howell (Kevin), and brother, Tony Rish (Cindy). Ray is also survived by his granddaughter, Charleigh Raye-Marie – daughter of Chasen and Kasey, as well as many other nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is predeceased by his mother, Doris Marie Sightler Culler; stepfather, Ralph Culler; father, Charles Davis; and stepmother, Gene Davis.
Thompson Funeral home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Services will be held at First Baptist of Gaston with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Sandy Run, SC.
